JAPAN BULLET TRAIN offers convenient online reservations for a variety of train options, including Shinkansen (bullet train), Express trains, Airport trains, and local trains. With JAPAN BULLET TRAIN, you can skip the long lines in Japan by booking your tickets in advance, from both within and outside of Japan. Once you've made a order, our team at JAPAN BULLET TRAIN will swiftly confirm your booking and send you a QR code for your convenience. When you arrive in Japan, you can easily receive paper tickets at designated JR stations by using the QR code.
You can order for dates up to three month in advance.
Yes, you can make same-day reservations, up to 3 hours in advance.
Yes. Tickets for Adults and Children are shown below.
Adult
12 years old and above.
Child
6-11 years old. Child tickets are half the price of adult tickets.
Pre-school child
1-5 years old.
Newborns
Younger than 1 year old.
In some special cases, you will need to purchase a ticket regardless if you have an accompanying “newborn” or “Pre-school child”:
- If the number of accompanying newborns/pre-school children exceed 2, you will be charged the price of 1 child ticket per additional baby.
- When a newborn or pre-school child uses a reserved seat.
- When a newborn or pre-school child travels alone.
No, we do not sell Japan Rail (JR) Pass.
Order & Booking
Your order is not confirmed immediately upon request. Our agents will purchase your tickets once your order has been requested. The ticket confirmation process typically takes up to 48 hours.
While we make every effort to secure your tickets promptly, if your desired seats are unavailable for the intended departure date and time, we will contact you immediately for rescheduling or provide a full refund.
After your order request, we will send you a QR code to your email once your tickets have been confirmed. To receive your tickets, please visit a designated JR station counter or ticketing machine and use the provided QR code.
No, we do not deliver tickets. Instead, you will need to visit a JR station prior to departure and retrieve your tickets using the QR code that you will receive after placing your order on our website.
No, you must have "physical tickets" to board the Shinkansen. E-tickets and QR codes are not accepted for boarding.
It usually arrives within 5 minutes. If you did not receive an email, it may be due to the following reasons:

Boarding
Please refer to Tickets & Platform Display for instructions on how to read Shinkansen tickets.
While most Shinkansen trains depart on time, it's generally a good idea to arrive at the platform 5 minutes before the departure time. However, considering the complexity of Japanese stations with multiple platforms, we highly recommend arriving at the station at least 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.
Change & Cancel
Certain tickets are eligible for changes under specific conditions. Please refer to Change My Booking for more details.
If you lost your ticket, please inform the JR ticket counter or a train staff. You will need to repurchase the same ticket (for the same route, train, and class) for re-issuance, and the ticket will be marked as “Re-issued for Loss”. Please refer to Lost My Tickets for more details.
Cancellations and refunds after placing an order are available under certain conditions.
・Before the QR code is issued: Free cancellation
・QR code issued and more than 2 days before departure: Cancellable (20% cancellation fee)
・After the QR code is issued or within 2 days of departure: Cancellation and refund not available through our company
・For paper tickets (reserved seat, Green Car, non-reserved, boarding pass): Refunds may be possible at JR station counters according to their refund policies and applicable fees (conditions apply)
