Luggage
Luggage with total dimensions of 160 cm or less can normally be carried without an oversized-baggage reservation. On the Tokaido, Sanyo, Kyushu and Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen, baggage with total dimensions over 160 cm and up to 250 cm requires an advance reservation of a seat with an oversized baggage area. Measure each item by length + width + height. Items over 250 cm cannot be brought on board.

- Japan Bullet Train does not currently offer seats with an oversized baggage area. If you need one, purchase a ticket that includes the required oversized-baggage reservation directly from JR before travel.
